Many other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Patients with lung diseases such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pneumonia, bronchiectasis of the lungs, idiopathic fibrosing alveolitis, as well as patients with various allergic pathologies receive treatment. Allergic diseases manifest themselves in various ways: rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, urticaria, dermatitis, and allergies to food and various medications.

The medical and diagnostic activity of the department is the differential diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the bronchopulmonary system, among which one of the leading places is occupied by diseases with impaired bronchial conduction. The main diseases accompanied by impaired bronchial conduction are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma (BA). The leading pathogenetic components of these diseases is the restriction of air flow during breathing, which is felt by patients as shortness of breath and suffocation. The state of bronchial patency, i.e. the degree of bronchial obstruction in COPD, is the basis for its qualification and determines the stage of the process, the rate of progression of the disease and the possibility of various complications. Therefore, in addition to mandatory routine laboratory tests, the examination of patients also includes instrumental specific examination methods such as spirography, diagnostic FBS, and peak flowmetry. The last method of examination is carried out directly in the department with the doctors of this department, as part of the asthma office. Thus, the department provides the following diagnostic and treatment methods::

- general clinical and biochemical

- immunological

- functional, radiological, endoscopic

- rehabilitation treatment (including nebulizer therapy)

Also, in order to timely monitor and correct the treatment of patients with bronchial asthma, the department has an asthma office where the department's doctors teach the proper use of inhalation therapy and the use of individual nebulizers, as well as self-monitoring methods (peak flowmetry).

In addition to their main medical activities, the department's doctors actively participate in holding thematic conferences and seminars for doctors working in polyclinics on prevention, timely detection, diagnosis and treatment of patients with liver and gastrointestinal diseases, bronchopulmonary, and allergic diseases; they advise the districts of the region on telemedicine, and also, if necessary, travel to the districts through sanitation facilities.
