The department, which provides level III medical care to pregnant women and women in labor with extragenital diseases, has been operating since March 1, 2024. It consists of three divisions with a total capacity of 70 beds. The structure includes an obstetric department with 30 beds, equipped with 4 delivery rooms, a prenatal ward and a neonatal stabilization ward.

Pregnant women with extragenital diseases in the stage of subcompensation and decompensation are monitored, treated and delivered in the department. The department also oversees patients from Zhanakorgan and Shieli districts. For pregnant women from these areas with two or more uterine scars, a planned cesarean section is performed. In this regard, the proportion of cesarean section deliveries is 44.4%.

From all over the region, pregnant women with placenta previa and its ingrowth into the uterine wall are observed in the department of pregnancy pathology and hospitalized for a planned cesarean section.

For the first time in the region, metroplastic operations using turnstiles were performed, which significantly reduced blood loss and preserved the uterus. Thanks to the use of this technique, it was possible to preserve the uterus in women with a blood loss of 2.5–3.0 liters.
