The Cardiology Department No. 2 with the cardioreanimation unit (ICU No. 2) was founded in 1999 on the basis of 2 therapeutic departments.

The Department of Cardiology treats the main types of cardiological diseases, the area of specialization is diagnostics (invasive and non-invasive) and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. The Department of Cardiology offers patients the whole range of diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Doctors have at their disposal an angiographic complex, a nuclear magnetic resonance facility, an installation for electrophysiological examination of the heart and arrhythmia treatment and a computer tomograph. Intravascular ultrasound and angiography of the vessels of the abdominal cavity, head and limbs and, if necessary, implantation of stents are also performed in the department, which also avoids surgery. The department has a biochemical laboratory in which the entire spectrum of laboratory blood tests is carried out 24 hours a day, as well as express diagnostics.
